Land, Food and Justice

The organization is a non-profit organization working to advance land rights for indigenous and local peoples, land-based food production, and justice.

OUR VISION

To know land rights and justice in an effort to achieve sustainable development.

OUR MISSION
  1. To assist understand laws and policies related to the lives, livelihoods and justice of land-dependent indigenous peoples and local peoples.
  2. To ensure that the rights of indigenous and local peoples are protected in accordance with the laws and community standards.
  3. To promote the voice and participation of local people, farmers and stakeholders in the formulation and revision of new laws and policies.

What We Do

To fully enjoy the equitable access, use and management rights of local people, indigenous men, women, vulnerable groups and community organizations over land and natural resources.

Awareness and coordination

We implement awareness activities about local people, indigenous peoples, vulnerable groups, women’s right to own land, right to use it, and right to legal assistance. We support and implement with responsible persons from departments and regional responsible persons who have progressive views for the effective success of awareness activities.

Assisting and Implementation

We provide legal assistance for vulnerable groups, women, residents, and indigenous peoples for land tenure rights. Furthermore, the identification of customary land use systems and conservation systems is implemented with the participation of residents and all stakeholders. As well as working to strengthen the cooperation of relevant organizations. It works to ease, heal, and improve the difficulties and challenges of the affected people.

Sharing and Engagement

We write policy papers and share information with local peoples, women, indigenous, and other stakeholders to gain a broader understanding of the conservation and use of land and natural resources. In addition, we do meet with the relevant government officials and Hluttaw representatives and advocacy them to create better land management systems for local people, women, and indigenous peoples.

Responding to Emergencies

The partner organizations are working to help and support many sector-specific challenges. Due to the ongoing conflicts and battles in Myanmar, there is an urgent need for food, shelter, and health aid. In addition to collaborating with partners in Myanmar’s urgently needed emergency food and health sectors, we are also working together to respond to climate change.
